Greetings!

Dear Memorial Middle School Parents,

Welcome to the 2025-2026 school year! I'm Principal Foster, and on behalf of the entire staff, I want to extend a warm welcome to both new and returning families. We are incredibly excited to embark on another year of learning, growth, and achievement with your children, our Memorial Middle School Soldiers!

Celebrating Our Progress

I want to take a moment to express how immensely proud I am of our dedicated staff and incredible students. Through their hard work and commitment, we've made significant strides in our school's performance. Last year, we successfully moved our school grade from a D (42 points) to a C (50 points), improving our total school grade points by an impressive 75 points! This achievement is a testament to the collective effort of our entire school community.

Our Goal for the Future

Building on this momentum, our ambitious goal for this academic year is to achieve a school grade of a "B" for the first time in Memorial Middle School's history! We believe this is an attainable goal with continued collaboration between our school, our students, and you, our parents.

Positive Changes at Memorial Middle School

We've also seen remarkable improvements in other key areas:

  • Student Behavior: We've observed a major reduction in student-on-student altercations, largely due to our successful implementation of Restorative Justice practices. This approach fosters a more positive and respectful school environment for everyone.
  • Student Attendance: Our efforts to improve attendance have yielded significant results. We reduced absenteeism for students who missed 22 days or more by 8.5%, which was the largest reduction in the entire district! We know that consistent attendance is crucial for academic success, and we're thrilled with this progress.
  • Instructional Excellence: We are proud to share that the state has provided our District with excellent feedback on Memorial Middle School's instructional systems and student monitoring that they've observed. This recognition highlights the quality of education and support your children receive every day.

We are committed to providing a safe, supportive, and challenging learning environment where every student can thrive. We look forward to partnering with you throughout the year to ensure your child's success.

Go Soldiers!

Sincerely,

Principal Foster
